Turn to UCSF Health for your plastic and reconstructive surgery needs. You'll find a unique blend of services and a strong commitment to quality and safety.
Breast reconstruction
Experts at the UCSF Breast Care Plastic Surgery Clinic provide options for people who want to rebuild one or both breasts after mastectomy or lumpectomy. They offer complex procedures such as DIEP flap surgery, an advanced technique that uses tissue from your abdomen to reconstruct your breast.
Craniofacial surgery
Our plastic and reconstructive surgeons work with ear, nose and throat doctors, neurosurgeons and other specialists to treat adults and children with conditions affecting the skull, face and jaw. They offer complex reconstructions for cleft lip and palate, craniosynostosis (misshapen skull), facial nerve palsy and irregularities from cancer treatment.
We use the latest technology to enhance outcomes, such as virtual surgical planning using a 3D model of the patient's anatomy. This approach helps surgeons operate with unparalleled accuracy. Our team strives to enhance each patient's quality of life by improving their appearance and ability to speak, swallow and communicate.
Gender affirming surgery
We proudly offer feminizing and masculinizing chest (top) surgery, facial feminization and masculinization, gynecologic and urologic procedures and other gender affirming services through the UCSF Gender Affirming Health Program.
Hand and wrist surgery
Our surgeons are regionally and nationally renowned for their ability to treat complex upper limb conditions, including traumatic hand, finger and wrist injuries and chronic nerve syndromes.
They use advanced techniques such as nerve grafting and free tissue transfers to relieve pain and restore as much function as possible. Reconstructive surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists and other experts work together to deliver individualized care.
