If you have a fever or other symptom of an infectious disease, you should see a doctor as soon as possible. Infectious disease specialists are trained in diagnosing and treating a variety of viral and bacterial infections, from common viruses such as colds and flu to exotic infections.

Some of these infections are contagious, some can be treated at home and some are even life-threatening. These are some of the more serious symptoms:

  • Fever with headache
  • Fever after a bite from an animal or bug
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Vision problems
  • Frequent diarrhea or vomiting
  • Rashes
  • Swelling
  • Fever that lasts more than two days

After-hours: Even when our office is closed, a doctor is always available to help. Please call our main number and speak to our answering service. They will page the on-call doctor for you.

If you have a life-threatening emergency, dial 911 or go to the closest emergency room.
