Support groups held by the Ida and Joseph Friend Cancer Resource Center are free and available to all patients, whether or not you get your health care at UCSF.

The UCSF AWAKE ("Alert, Well And Keeping Energetic") Obstructive Sleep Apnea Support Group is for people with this sleep and breathing disorder.

Organ Transplant Support Groups

The UCSF Heart Transplant/LVAD Support Group offers peer-based support for heart transplant patients and patients with left ventricular assist devices (LVADs).

The UCSF Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) Caregiver Support Group provides education as well as support to the caregivers and families. Find more information here.

Get help quitting. Our tobacco addiction specialists will guide you through a four-week course on smoking, health and how to quit.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Class

This eight-week UCSF class teaches mindfulness practices, such as meditation and body awareness, that can reduce stress and improve your overall health.

Stop Smoking Support Group

The UCSF Freedom From Smoking Support Group is open to graduates of the Stop Smoking classes provided by the UCSF Fontana Tobacco Treatment Center.

Healing Through Dance Class

Use movement, expression, imagery and creativity to enhance your own healing. Open to all cancer patients (including non-UCSF) and their caregivers.

Meditation and Guided Imagery for Cancer Patients

Drop in for a free class designed to help you heal, relax and find balance during your treatment. UCSF and non-UCSF patients are welcome.

Neurology Support Groups

The UCSF Aneurysm and Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) Support Group encourages all patients with these blood vessel disorders to join. Find more info here.

Bariatric Surgery Support Group

This group is open to patients who have undergone weight-loss surgery as well as those who are considering the procedure. Friends and family are welcome.

Pamper yourself while fighting cancer. Free treatments for patients receiving chemotherapy at our Mount Zion campus include massage, acupressure and more.
