Cancer Center Mission Bay

Cancer Center Mission Bay is located in the Bakar Precision Cancer Medicine Building, just steps away from a world-class research center on our Mission Bay campus. Our unique hospital brings together top cancer researchers, oncologists, surgeons and other clinicians to foster new treatments and speed their delivery to patients.

Cutting-edge facilities and care

Our center was designed with centralized hubs that make it easy for care teams to collaborate closely with one another, ensuring that patients stay on course and beneficial adjustments to therapy can be made.

We offer patients the newest tests and treatments, including:

• Genetic sequencing of tumors and germline testing (to look for mutations associated with cancer risk)
• Infusion with genetically engineered viruses (targeting specific cancer cells)
• Radiation oncology
• Immunotherapy, phase I clinical trials and genetic sequencing

Support, warmth and light

Our patients have access to:

• Infusion bays filled with natural light
• Psycho-oncologists, genetic counselors, symptom management clinicians, social workers and nutritionists
• Complementary therapies, such as acupuncture, biofeedback and yoga
• A dedicated acute care center (for prompt assessments or care for side effects of treatment)

Convenience: All in one place

Instead of a day of multiple appointments at multiple locations, our patients check in just once at centralized registration. There's no need to travel between buildings or across the city to complete steps in evaluations or treatments.

The lobby offers a friendly first stop that includes:

• UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Health classes
• Support group information
• The Patient and Family Cancer Support Center
• Plus: Pop-up services, such as Art for Recovery and quick educational talks on nutrition and exercise for cancer patients, taking place in convenient locations throughout the day

Laboratory services

Cancer Center Mission Bay has a blood draw lab on the fifth floor.

Parking
