The Optical Dispensary – Mission Bay Illinois St. is located in the Valley Vision Center on our Mission Bay campus. We’re a one-stop shop for patients who need eyeglasses, prescription sunglasses, contact lenses, protective eyewear or related accessories. We carry frames for people ages 8 and up. If you need eyewear for children under the age of 8, please visit UCSF’s nearby Optical Dispensary – Mission Bay Fourth St.
Plan your visit
- No appointment is necessary.
- Outside prescriptions are fine.
- Self-pay patients are welcome, as well as those with San Francisco Health Plan and VSP insurance.
- We don’t offer eye exams, but they are available in the same building. Call UCSF Health’s Ophthalmology & Optometry Mission Bay for an appointment at 415-353-2020 or schedule online.

Parking
Garage parking is available just south of the building, on the corner of Illinois and Mariposa streets. The garage entrance is on Illinois Street.
UCSF also offers valet parking at 490 Illinois Street, Monday through Friday, at the regular parking lot rate. Please enter on Illinois Street to use the valet service.
