Lactation Consultant Support
Lactation Consultant Support offers one-on-one consultations with a certified lactation specialist. We provide breastfeeding information and support to help address challenges such as:
- Engorgement
- Plugged ducts
- Mastitis prevention
- Sore nipples
Our goal is to provide you with the support you need to have a pleasant breastfeeding experience with your baby.
Lactation Consultant Support is a service of the UCSF Women's Health Resource Center. The center also offers:
- Breastfeeding classes and MILK (Mother & Infant Lactation Kooperative) support group through the Great Expectations program
- Rental and sale of breastfeeding equipment
- Sale of breastfeeding supplies

To schedule a consultation, please contact UCSF Obstetrics & Gynecology at (415) 353-3400. Consultations are available at two locations: Obstetrics & Gynecology Services at Mount Zion and Obstetrics, Gynecology & Perinatal Specialties at Mission Bay – Fourth Street.
