About me
Dr. Aman Chauhan is a medical oncologist who cares for patients of all ages with gastrointestinal cancers and cancers affecting the neuroendocrine system (cells that communicate between nerves and hormones). He also specializes in developing new therapies and leading clinical trials (studies of promising new treatments), particularly theranostic studies (using radioactive tracers to find and deliver targeted radiation to cancer cells).
Chauhan earned his medical degree from Kasturba Medical College in India. He completed a residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, followed by a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.
Chauhan has served as national principal investigator on several multicenter clinical trials. He received the NCI CTEP Career Development Award. He is a member of the American Joint Committee on Cancer and American Society of Clinical Oncology neuroendocrine tumor guidelines committee. He currently serves on the board of directors for the North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society, the NCI Neuroendocrine Tumor Task Force, and as co-chair of the SWOG Neuroendocrine Tumor Subcommittee.
Chauhan's favorite moments are spent with his kids, and his professional purpose is driven by bringing hope to cancer patients through research.
