About me

Ana Marie Torres is a nurse practitioner who specializes in caring for living donors. These patients are donating a kidney or portion of their liver to someone in need of a transplant. She coordinates presurgical testing for living donors as well as their follow-up care after the procedure.

With a focus on supporting the organ system's health, Torres also helps address all the needs of living donors. These may include short- and long-term financial needs in addition to physical, psychological, social and practical needs. Accordingly, her research explores the welfare of living donors.

Torres earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing through the adult nurse practitioner program at UCSF. She is a member of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, American Society of Transplantation and California Association for Nurse Practitioners.
