Christina Phan is a specialist in allergies (when the immune system reacts to a substance that isn't actually harmful) and immune system disorders. She cares for children and adults with allergies, focusing particularly on food allergies. She also evaluates patients experiencing recurrent infections due to immune conditions and works to manage the underlying immunodeficiency.

In her research, Phan looks at how to optimize allergy shots and minimize cross-reactive allergens (substances that may cause an allergic reaction because they have similar proteins to a substance that someone is already allergic to). She also studies patterns and associations in food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome, which causes profuse vomiting after a patient eats a triggering food.

Phan earned her medical degree at Texas A&M University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Kaiser Permanente.

When not working, Phan loves to travel and learn about new cultures. She has been to more than 30 countries and dreams of visiting Antarctica.
