The soon to take a supremely well-deserved retirement Dr. Claman is nothing short of a treasure that will be greatly missed. During the decades that I and my now deceased Mother had the privilege to have Dr. Claman as our specialist he has been exemplary on every level: knowledge, professionalism, patient empathy, active listening, receptivity to suggestion and technological changes in medical care, you name it.Truly, he has been a priceless asset to UCSF and I and my family wish him the absolute best.

Dr. Claman is what you wish for in every provider. He asked the essential questions and allowed me the space to answer them fully. He then repeated what he heard in case I wanted to modify my statements. Following that, he explained what he believed to be important in what I had said and how it might influence the next steps in my treatment.
