Dr. Malini Nijagal is an obstetrician and gynecologist who cares for pregnant patients at UCSF Health and Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. She sees patients in both clinic and hospital settings.

Nijagal's research focuses on devising sustainable, high-quality maternity care systems for pregnant people experiencing inequities. Drawing on her diverse background in human-centered design, community engagement, health care financing and operations, and cross-sector partnerships, she develops and implements new models that tackle inequities in patients' access to pregnancy care as well as their experiences and outcomes.

Nijagal earned her medical degree at UCSF and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She has a master of public health degree, with a focus on health care management, from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
