About me

Dr. Nicole Mercho is an optometrist who provides comprehensive eye exams. In addition to prescribing glasses and soft contact lenses, she is experienced in diagnosing and managing a variety of ocular conditions, including glaucoma, cataracts and dry eye syndrome. Her expertise also encompasses detecting and caring for retinal abnormalities, such as diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment and macular degeneration.

Mercho has a special interest in serving communities with historically limited access to quality health care. She aims to create mindful connections with her patients, seeking to treat the whole person rather than just the condition.

Mercho earned her doctor of optometry degree at the State University of New York College of Optometry. She completed a residency in primary eye care and ocular disease at the Veterans Affairs New York Harbor Healthcare System, working in an outpatient setting and a skilled nursing home facility, where she gained experience working with patients who are geriatric and those who have disabilities. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
