Dr. Pauline M. Velez is a vascular surgeon who cares for patients with diseases involving the blood vessels. She provides both in-clinic and telehealth support for patients with wounds that require minimally invasive surgery. For her patients with kidney disease, she works to preserve kidney function and reduce the need for dialysis by collaborating with a care team that includes pharmacists, dietitians, nurses and psychologists.

Velez has focused much of her career on caring for indigent patients at county hospitals as well as through the Veterans Affairs health care system.

Velez earned her medical degree at UCSF and completed a residency in surgery at the University of California, Davis.

Velez has four grown children and is a masters-level competitive rower. Hailing from Colombia, she grew up in Latin America, with her father working for the United Nations.
