Dr. Gagandeep Gill, who goes by Niki, is an internal medicine specialist who provides primary care to patients in all stages of adulthood. With a special interest in women's health, she emphasizes preventive care, mental health and hormonal health. She strives to empower patients to take charge of their own well-being. Her goal is to build trust-based, lasting, collaborative relationships with her patients so that she can help them achieve their health goals.

Gill's research has focused on quality improvement in health care, including safe and effective discharge planning for patients affected by heart failure and opioid use disorder. The overarching goal of her research is to make meaningful, real-world improvements in patient outcomes.

Gill earned her medical degree from the Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in India. She completed a residency in internal medicine at UCSF Health St. Mary's Hospital. 

Gill is trained in trauma-informed care, an approach that recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and prioritizes patient autonomy, healing and empowerment in every interaction. She serves as curriculum director for Medical Safe Haven – a clinic at Sister Mary Philippa Health Center that provides comprehensive care for Bay Area survivors of human trafficking. This work has shaped her practice by bringing a strong focus to safety, trust, and honoring each person's lived experience.

When not working, Gill is passionate about cultivating wellness in a variety of ways. She enjoys spending time in nature, practicing mindfulness, and sharing great meals with good company.
