About me

Dr. Josette Rivera provides primary and palliative care to homebound older adults through the UCSF Care at Home Program, which serves more than 100 patients in San Francisco and is growing.

Rivera earned her medical degree at the University of Rochester and completed residency in primary care and internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Medicine. She then completed a three-year clinical and research fellowship in geriatric medicine and gerontology at Johns Hopkins.

Before joining UCSF in 2008, Rivera cared for seniors in the San Francisco area through On Lok Lifeways, a program of all-inclusive care for the elderly.

Having been honored with a UCSF Geriatric Academic Career Award, Rivera is expanding interprofessional geriatric medical education at UCSF.
