About me

Dr. Karen Hauer is an internal medicine specialist who provides primary care.

Hauer studies medical education, and is an associate dean at UCSF. Her research focuses on innovative ways to train and assess medical students so that they become outstanding doctors.

Hauer earned her medical degree from UCSF, where she also completed a residency in internal medicine. She earned a doctorate in medical education from UCSF and Utrecht University in the Netherlands.

Hauer is married to a physician, and they have three children. A native of Marin County, she enjoys being outdoors, running, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
