About me
Dr. Karina Del Rosario is a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation who cares for patients with nerve and muscle conditions with the goal of restoring physical function. As a specialist in electrodiagnostic medicine, she performs diagnostic procedures to identify nerve and muscle injuries, such as electromyography (recording the electrical activity in muscles to assess muscle and nerve health) and nerve conduction studies (measuring the speed of electrical impulses to assess nerve health), along with providing treatment to facilitate recovery from musculoskeletal and neurological injuries. In addition to caring for patients at UCSF, she sees patients at the Orthopaedic Trauma Institute at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center.
After earning a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and cell biology at the University of California, San Diego, Del Rosario earned her medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine. She completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of California, Davis, where she was recognized with an award for outstanding teaching during her year as chief resident. She continues to teach and mentor medical students and residents at UCSF.
