About me
Dr. Katherine M. Chan is a family medicine doctor who cares for patients of all ages. She seeks to build long-term relationships with patients and families, to center individual needs and values in her treatment plans, and to provide whole-person care – addressing not only medical concerns but also the social and environmental factors that impact health. She envisions a supportive, kind, collective community where all patients can grow and thrive. Her professional interests include community health, medical education and mentorship.
Chan earned her medical degree from UCSF, where she was part of the Program in Medical Education for the Urban Underserved (PRIME-US). She completed a residency in family and community medicine at UCSF, serving as chief resident in her final year. Throughout medical school and residency training, she provided care for a diverse patient population and participated in projects to improve health care access, advance equity and support health education.
In her free time, Chan enjoys jogging, swimming, going on walks, caring for her plants, meditating, and being with her family and friends.

Not that anyone likes going to the doctor. But Dr Chan has a very comforting demeanor and that goes a long way. And she went to Bal!

Dr. Chan was not my primary physician. She substituted for Dr. Brode, my primary physician. I was impressed with her bedside manner, her familiarity with my overall health and the care she provided. An excellent physician
