About me
Dr. Kathryn Fay is a gynecologist who specializes in providing reproductive care for patients with complex medical needs, including contraception and pregnancy counseling and management. Her role includes office-based procedures such as colposcopy (examination of the cervix, vagina and vulva), loop excision (removing abnormal cells from the cervix), hysteroscopy (using a small camera to examine the uterus), uterine aspiration (removing contents from the uterus) and endometrial biopsy.
In research, Fay explores the ways in which personal relationships affect sexual and reproductive health outcomes, with a special focus on gender-based violence. She is particularly interested in reproductive coercion and understanding the impact of state policy, health care environments and intimate partners on creating disparities in wellness. Her goal is to broaden the medical lens on what drives patient experience in obstetrics and gynecologic care.
Fay earned her medical degree at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine, where she also completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology. She completed a fellowship in complex family planning at University of Utah School of Medicine, where she also completed a master's degree in clinical investigation.
