About me

Lianzhe Zheng is a psychologist who cares for patients with cancer, counseling them and their families as they navigate diagnosis, treatment, survivorship and end of life. She has expertise in a range of concerns that may accompany cancer, such as anxiety, depression, insomnia, relationship difficulties, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Her focus is on working toward individual goals within an appropriate time frame. She favors techniques shown to be effective, such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy, and hypnotherapy. She approaches patient care with mindfulness of the influence of past trauma.

Zheng earned her doctorate in counseling psychology from Boston College. At Peninsula Behavioral Health, she completed a social justice–oriented fellowship on care for trauma, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Zheng is passionate about promoting research and advocacy related to race and culture. She co-facilitates a group for therapists focused on integrating social justice principles into patient care.
