About me
Marina Ortega is a physician assistant who cares for patients with disorders of the endocrine system (hormone-producing glands), including conditions that require surgery. She specializes in thyroid disorders, including thyroid cancer, Graves' disease and hypothyroidism. She believes in tailoring treatment plans to each patient's specific needs and desired outcomes, which calls for listening to them carefully and empowering them to participate actively in their own care. She directs UCSF's thyroid cancer survivorship program.
Ortega earned her master's degree in physician assistant studies from Samuel Merritt University, where she received a National Health Service Corps scholarship for her commitment to underserved populations.
