About me
Dr. Matthew Gubens is a thoracic oncologist who cares for patients with lung cancer. He specializes particularly in treating non-small cell lung cancer, small cell lung cancer, thymoma and thymic carcinoma, and mesothelioma.
In his research, Gubens studies new treatment strategies for lung cancer and other malignancies of the chest area.
Gubens earned his medical degree at Stanford University School of Medicine. He completed a residency in internal medicine at UCSF and a fellowship in medical oncology at Stanford. He also earned a master's degree in health policy and management at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
Gubens is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer and International Thymic Malignancy Interest Group.
