About me

Dr. Melissa Chiang is an internal medicine specialist who provides primary care to adults. She strives to help her patients maintain their quality of life as they age through preventive medicine, such as regular screenings, and through effective management of chronic conditions. She is particularly interested in how lifestyle and weight impact health.

In her research, Chiang focuses on how technology can support communication and chronic disease care for both patients and their providers.

Chiang earned her medical degree from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed a residency in internal medicine at the New York University Grossman School of Medicine. She also has a master of business administration degree from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management.

Chiang is interested in using storytelling to improve communication between patients and providers. She created and drew a comic about her experiences as an intern and resident during the COVID-19 pandemic in New York City, which was printed in the Grossman School of Medicine's arts and literature publication.
