About me
Dr. Pritikanta Paul is a neurologist who cares for patients with nerve and muscle diseases, including chronic conditions, such as muscular dystrophy, myositis (disorders involving muscle inflammation), chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (marked by progressive weakness and reduced sensation in the arms and legs), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (also called ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease, a condition in which motor nerve cells die over time) and myasthenia gravis (an autoimmune disease causing weakness in voluntary muscles). His expertise includes using electromyography (which measures muscle response to electrical signals) as part of diagnosing the cause of tingling, numbness or weakness.
Paul's research focuses on nerve and muscle diseases linked to dysfunction of the immune system. By assessing the activity of these diseases, he seeks to improve care and help patients better understand their conditions.
Paul earned his medical degree at Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College in India. He completed a residency in neurology at the University of Toledo Medical Center and a fellowship in neuromuscular medicine at the Mayo Clinic.

One thing that was different from other providers that I really liked was the follow up information on My Chart. It Ed the most comprehensive explanation of my issues that I've read since My Chart came into being!! It helped telling other doctors what some of my issues were with comprehensive information.
