Dr. Sandeep Kunwar is a neurosurgeon with a special interest in pituitary tumors, including craniopharyngiomas. He uses minimally invasive surgical techniques to treat patients with these disorders. He cares for pediatric patients in collaboration with the pediatric neurosurgery team.

    I felt Dr. Kunwar was very personable and had good bedside manners. He listened to me and he seemed to have read my health information and updated medication list that I sent him prior to our meeting which I really appreciated. He took his time to explain things to me and I did not feel rushed or overwhelmed with the information he gave me.

    I felt very comfortable with Dr. Kunwar and appreciate that he thoroughly explained the diagnosis and treatment options along with pros/cons. I am happy with the treatment plan and since my case is borderline, I will even consider removal of the adenoma sooner rather than later since it is inevitable.

    Dr Kunwar's description of condition, outlook and recommended treatment was flawless. He's clearly at the very top of his field. I particularly appreciate the visual walk through with the MRI scans - it helped me understand the criticality of moving quickly to surgery. I feel so fortunate to be under his / his team and UCSF care.
