About me
Dr. Sarah Nouri is a palliative care specialist whose focus is patients with serious illnesses. In collaboration with a diverse team of experts, she helps patients manage their symptoms and engage in advance care planning.
Nouri's research aims to improve access to high-quality palliative care, particularly for racially, ethnically and linguistically marginalized older adults.
Nouri earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and completed a residency in internal medicine at Duke University. At UCSF, she completed a primary care research fellowship, followed by a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine. She also has a master of public health degree from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
Nouri serves on the steering committee of the San Francisco Palliative Care Work Group, a collaborative of local health care organizations, community-based nonprofits, and individuals. The group serves older adults as well as San Franciscans of any age with serious illnesses.
