Dr. Steven Hetts specializes in neurointerventional radiology, the minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of disorders involving blood vessels of the brain and spine. He cares for patients with conditions including aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, arteriovenous fistulas, atherosclerosis and tumors. He is also chief of neuroradiology at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center.

In his research, Hetts studies pediatric brain aneurysms and vascular malformations, spinal vascular malformations and interventional MRI.

Hetts earned his medical degree at Harvard Medical School. He completed a residency in diagnostic radiology as well as a fellowship in diagnostic and neurointerventional radiology at UCSF.

    Dr. Hetts is one of my best providers. He addresses all my concerns & questions in a way that I can easily understand him. He has given me a lot of relief since my diagnosis, 3 years ago. UCSF is amazing.
