About me
Dr. Susan Lambe is an emergency medicine physician who has cared for both adults and children at UCSF for more than 10 years.
After earning her medical degree at the University of California, San Diego, Lambe completed a residency in emergency medicine at Alameda Health System's Highland Hospital, where she served as a chief resident in her final year. She subsequently earned a fellowship in the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program at UCLA. Collaborating with researchers at UCLA and the RAND Corporation, she studied trends in use and capacity of California's emergency departments (EDs), predictors of ED waiting times and the impact of ED closures on adjacent hospitals; findings from the research were used to inform state policy makers.
Lambe has stayed involved in health policy by serving as co-president of the San Francisco Emergency Physicians Association and co-chair of the California Hospital Association's task force on behavioral health. She is also passionate about medical education, including bedside teaching in the clinic and simulation-based techniques.
Outside of work, she loves spending time at home with her husband, four kids and two chickens.
