About me

Susannah Santee is a physical therapist who specializes in acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries (including injuries from sports or the performing arts), back and neck pain, and rehabilitation before and after surgery. Taking a biomechanical approach to movement dysfunction and incorporating current research findings, she customizes treatment plans to help patients achieve their goals. Her tools for both physical recovery and injury prevention include education, manual therapy, core and postural stabilization, and sport- or task-specific movement reeducation.

Santee earned her doctor of physical therapy degree from the George Washington University. She completed the yearlong orthopedic manual therapy course at Folsom Physical Therapy and Training Center, then went on to become a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist. She left private practice to join UCSF in 2015.

In addition to working with patients, Santee participates in continuing education in orthopedic, sports and manual physical therapy. She volunteers as a teaching assistant in the UCSF doctor of physical therapy degree program.

Santee is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (orthopedic section) and the association's performing arts special interest group.

When not at work, Santee enjoys modern dance, travel, gardening and spending time outdoors.
