Frontotemporal Dementia Caregiver Support Group

The group provides support and education to the families of people with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and related neurodegenerative diseases, such as progressive nuclear palsy or coritcobasal degeneration. The group addresses the needs of FTD caregivers whose concerns are often different than those of Alzheimer's disease caregivers. Format is informal with open discussion and occasional speakers. Caregivers and family members of patients are welcome. The support group is free. No reservations needed to attend.

Meetings: Thursday, October 23, 2014 with guest facilitator Judy Long, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Thursday, December 11, 2014, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Starting in January 2015, the group will meet twice monthly on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays, 12:30 to 2 p.m.

For Adult Children of Patients
This group is for the adult children of people diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Participants from across the country are welcome to join the discussion by phone. Please contact the group facilitator for the call-in number and time. The support group is free.

Huntington's Disease Support Group

The group welcomes affected individuals, at-risk individuals, family members, loved ones, friends and caregivers. The group offers support and education in a caring, safe and relaxed environment. The format is informal with occasional guest speakers who are invited to share their knowledge of medical management, research and resources.

Mild-Cognitive Impairment Care Partner Support Group

The MCI Care Partner Support Group provides an environment for families and firends of patients diagnosed with MCI to share their experiences and receive support from others. Walk-ins are welcome. This group is offered at no cost and is co-sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association and UCSF Memory and Aging Center.

Younger People with Early Stage Dementia Support Group

This support group is for those with early stage Alzheimer's disease or another memory disorder, who are 65 or younger when diagnosed. A separate group is available for families. Compassionate professional facilitators experienced with Alzheimer's and dementia issues facilitate both groups.
