Our specialty areas include:
Opportunistic infections. We work closely with cancer and transplant teams to help prevent and treat infections in people with weakened immune systems due to cancer, organ transplantation or other health conditions.
Bone and joint infections. We are experts in diagnosing and treating serious bone and joint infections, such as osteomyelitis and septic arthritis. We also care for people who have infections around metal implants following orthopedic procedures, such as joint replacement surgery.
Lung infections from non-tuberculosis mycobacteria (NTM). These infections are caused by bacteria found in the environment and mainly affect the lungs. Our team includes several experts who work together to diagnose, treat and manage this illness.
Infections affecting the brain and nerves (neuro-infectious diseases). We care for people with infections affecting the brain and nerves, such as meningitis, encephalitis, myelitis and brain abscesses.
HIV treatment and prevention. We have one of the longest-standing HIV clinics in the U.S., offering specialized care for women, men of color, older adults and people in underserved areas.
Infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship. Using evidence-based guidelines, our team creates smart plans to lower the risk of infection and reduce the likelihood of bacteria developing resistance to medication (antimicrobial resistance).
