Our oral medicine specialists offer world-renowned care for conditions affecting the mouth. Through comprehensive evaluations and treatments, we help relieve mouth pain, dryness and other symptoms.

Orofacial pain disorders, such as burning mouth syndrome
Vesiculobullous disorders (skin diseases involving fluid-filled blisters)

We offer virtual appointments with our oral medicine specialists. These online visits are typically appropriate when you're reviewing test results with your doctor or discussing ongoing symptoms.

Specialized care for Sjögren's disease
Our specialists help manage oral symptoms of Sjögren's disease, such as dry mouth and difficulty swallowing.
In addition to the mouth, Sjögren's disease can affect many other areas of the body. We partner with other UCSF Health specialists, such as rheumatologists and ophthalmologists, to provide coordinated, team-based care.

We perform biopsies of abnormal mouth tissue that could be cancerous, as well as oral health consultations before head and neck radiation therapy. Our oral oncology experts help you manage your oral health before, during and after cancer treatments.
