Our radiology and imaging services
Patients and providers throughout Northern California turn to UCSF Health for excellence in imaging. We offer all types of imaging, including X-rays, ultrasounds, CT scans and MRIs. We have some of the most powerful technology available, offering fast, precise diagnostic tests.
Our radiology specialties include:
Screenings. These tests detect diseases before symptoms appear. Ask your provider if calcium scoring, lung cancer screening, mammography or DEXA bone density screenings are right for you.
Breast imaging. We use 100% digital imaging to detect and diagnose breast cancer. Our advanced imaging capabilities include 3D mammography (tomosynthesis), breast ultrasound and breast MRI.
Nuclear medicine. Nuclear imaging uses a tiny amount of a radioactive substance to help diagnose and monitor diseases in their earliest stages, such as cancer, heart disease and bone problems.
Musculoskeletal imaging. Radiologists and orthopedic surgeons diagnose bone, joint and soft tissue disorders. We offer special accommodations for people with claustrophobia or metal implants.
Interventional radiology. Our experts use imaging guidance to perform minimally invasive procedures through tiny incisions. We examine and treat blocked or abnormal blood vessels in our catheterization labs.
Neurointerventional radiology. We treat strokes, aneurysms and other cerebrovascular diseases (conditions affecting blood vessels in your brain) using minimally invasive techniques.
