Women's bladder and pelvic health services
At UCSF Health, you get the pelvic specialty care you need to restore your quality of life. Our team listens to you, answers your questions and helps you find solutions to bladder and pelvic issues.
Our services include:
Nonsurgical treatments
You may find relief through nonsurgical treatments for pelvic concerns:
Bladder Botox and urethral bulking injections. We use injections to treat overactive bladder and stress urinary incontinence.
Percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (PTNS). We stimulate a nerve in your leg to treat overactive bladder.
Pessaries. Your provider places a silicon support device in your pelvis to reduce urine leakage or support pelvic organ prolapse.
Physical therapy. A UCSF Health pelvic floor physical therapist can work with you to strengthen or relax pelvic muscles.
Bladder instillations. Our providers use a catheter to deliver medicine into the bladder.
Surgical treatments
When nonsurgical methods aren't providing sufficient relief, you have several surgery options:
Sacral neuromodulation. A surgeon inserts a small device in your pelvis that sends electrical impulses to the nerves controlling your bladder and bowels.
Vaginal prolapse surgery. We repair prolapsed pelvic organs with minimally invasive approaches.
Urethral sling surgery. Your surgeon places a small mesh sling under your urethra to reduce bladder leakage.
Robot-assisted sacrocolpopexy. Our experienced surgeons use this minimally invasive, precise approach to repair pelvic prolapse.
Complex pelvic reconstruction. A team of expert surgeons restores function to multiple pelvic organs after cancer treatment or traumatic injury.
