NF/Ras Pathway Clinic

The NF/Ras Pathway Clinic provides prenatal, pediatric and adult care with comprehensive referral services to appropriate specialists in the UCSF NF/Ras Pathway Referral Network. This group consists of more than 50 UCSF specialists who have expertise in Ras pathway disorders, related to genetic mutations that cause certain cancers, skeletal muscle abnormalities and other disorders.

Our clinic provides health care support and management for patients who have or are at risk for having a Ras pathway disorder. These include:

  • Neurofibromatosis type 1
  • Neurofibromatosis type 2
  • NF1-like
  • Schwannomatosis
  • Capillary malformation-AV malformation
  • Noonan syndrome
  • LEOPARD syndrome
  • Costello syndrome
  • Cardio-facio-cutaneous (CFC) syndrome

The goal of the clinic is to help patients and their families by:

  • Working with primary care doctors to ensure they have the information to properly care for patients with Ras pathway disorders.
  • Providing genetic counseling and information regarding the condition, new treatments and clinical trial opportunities.
  • Helping individuals and families contact others who have the same condition.
  • Providing seamless transitions from pediatric to adult care specialists, and serving as consultants for continuity of care.
