Dr. Bao Tran is a cardiologist who specializes in performing procedures on arteries supplying the heart as well as other blood vessels. These treatments include complex coronary interventions (minimally invasive techniques for opening blocked arteries in the heart), advanced peripheral endovascular therapy (minimally invasive techniques to improve blood flow for such conditions as peripheral artery disease, deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism) and endovenous ablation (a treatment for varicose veins). Tran also interprets results from cardiovascular tests, such as peripheral vascular ultrasound (which evaluates blood flow in the arms, legs and neck), cardiac CT (which produces images of the heart and chest between heartbeats), echocardiography (ultrasound of the heart) and nuclear stress tests (which show how well blood flows into the heart).

Tran earned a medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and completed a residency in internal medicine at UCSF. Tran completed a fellowship in cardiology at the University of California, Los Angeles, serving as chief fellow during the final year, and a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Kaiser Permanente.
