David M. Wilson, MD, PHD

Dr. David M. Wilson is a neuroradiologist, a specialist in using advanced imaging techniques to examine nervous system abnormalities. He has a specialty in positron emission tomography (PET), a type of imaging that shows how tissues and organs are functioning. He also has a particular interest in molecular imaging and magnetic resonance spectroscopy, tests that measure the metabolism of suspected spinal and brain tumors.

Wilson is a physician-scientist who is dedicated to using new imaging techniques to explore biochemical processes in the body that can be indicative of disease. His research focuses on developing new molecular probes for brain and tumor imaging.

Wilson earned his medical degree and his doctorate from Columbia University's Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed a residency in diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in neuroradiology at UCSF.
