About me

Dr. Caitlyn Painter is a urogynecologist and female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgeon who specializes in treating pelvic floor disorders. Her expertise includes pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, urinary and rectal fistulas, and vaginal abnormalities present at birth. She is an osteopathic doctor with a special interest in the complex interactions of pelvic floor disorders, pelvic pain and musculoskeletal dysfunction.

In her research, Painter has studied how to prevent and manage pelvic floor injuries that can occur during childbirth, looking particularly at the long-term physical and psychological consequences of obstetric anal sphincter injury.

Painter earned her doctor of osteopathic medicine degree at Touro University California's College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Kaiser Permanente Oakland and a fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery through a joint program of Kaiser Permanente East Bay and UCSF.

Dr. Painter is kind and co.passiknate. She cares about my well being and my healing progress; not just the success of the procedure. She listens to my updates and concerns and genuinely cares about me.
