Maya Graham

Dr. Maya Graham is a neuro-oncologist who cares for patients with brain tumors. She has a particular focus on gliomas (tumors that start in glial cells, which support nerve cell function).

Graham's research centers on developing stem cell-based models of gliomas to better understand how epigenetics (changes in how a tumor's genetic code is organized and expressed) contributes to disease progression and treatment resistance. She hopes this work will uncover new targeted therapies for patients. Her research receives funding from the National Institutes of Health.

Graham earned both her medical degree and a doctorate in neuroscience at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She completed a residency in neurology at Mass General Brigham and a fellowship in neuro-oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Graham is an active member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Neurology, where she serves on the early career leadership development subcommittee, and the Society for Neuro-Oncology, where she is a co-host of "Neuro-Oncology: The Podcast." Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, singing, and spending time with her husband and two young sons.
