Nicole Yvonne Nguyen

Nicole Yvonne Nguyen is a pharmacist who works with hospitalized patients in many departments, including general surgery, neurosurgery, neurology, neurovascular care and emergency medicine. She also performs pharmacy consultations for bariatric surgery patients on an outpatient basis.

As part of her patients' health care team, Nguyen serves as the medication expert, reviewing and optimizing drug regimens, and recommending adjustments when a patient's condition changes. She also reviews pharmacy orders for accuracy.

Nguyen works with pharmacists in the UCSF residency program on research projects related to drug therapies. She is passionate about educating the next generation of pharmacists and advancing the practice of pharmacy. In her free time, she volunteers for the board of directors of the California Society of Health-System Pharmacists (CSHP). Her past research endeavors focused on global health issues.

After earning her bachelor's degree in behavioral science and health at the University of Utah, Nguyen earned her doctor of pharmacy degree at UCSF. She also completed a residency in pharmacy practice at UCSF, where she was a global health sciences scholar. She belongs to the CSHP, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, American College of Clinical Pharmacy and American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
