Dr. Veronika Mesheriakova is a specialist in substance use disorders who cares for adolescent and young adult patients. She serves as director of the UCSF Youth Outpatient Substance Use Program (YoSUP). She also has expertise in sexual and reproductive health, menstrual disorders, eating disorders, depression and anxiety.

Mesheriakova's research focuses on preventing, diagnosing and treating substance use disorders in youths. She has also conducted research on topics that include contraception use among adolescents, ensuring that all patients get appropriate vaccines and ensuring confidentiality for sexual health services provided to minors.

Mesheriakova earned her medical degree from the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine. She completed a residency in pediatrics at Yale New Haven Children's Hospital, followed by a fellowship in adolescent and young adult medicine at UCSF.

Mesheriakova is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine, American Society of Addiction Medicine and Association for Multidisciplinary Education and Research in Substance Use and Addiction.
