Jordyn Blackburn is a nurse practitioner who cares for hospitalized patients with advanced heart failure. She evaluates them to determine which advanced treatments are appropriate. Her expertise includes prostacyclin therapy (medications to lower high blood pressure in the lungs), heart transplantation treatments (both before and after the procedure), cardiac resynchronization therapy (using a pacemaker to restore normal heart rhythm) and medication optimization (assessing the patient's response to drugs currently in use and finding opportunities for improvement).

Blackburn earned her bachelor's degree in nursing as well as her master's degree in nursing at Grand Canyon University, where she focused on acute care and the care of patients in all stages of adulthood. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked as a cardiac critical care nurse for 12 years.
