About me
Kanchi N. Barfiwala is a genetic counselor who specializes in prenatal and preconception genetics. She enjoys educating patients about the genetic testing options available to them and empowering them to make informed decisions for their pregnancies. She appreciates having the opportunity to interact with people from various backgrounds and provide equal care to all.
Barfiwala earned her master's degree in genetic counseling at the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. She also has a master's degree in life sciences, with a focus on biotechnology, from the University of Mumbai.
As a passionate advocate for the genetic counseling profession, Barfiwala serves on various committees for the National Society of Genetic Counselors and is an active member of the Minority Genetic Professionals Network. She also mentors prospective and current genetic counseling students.
