Katy McRae is a social worker who cares for patients undergoing lung transplantation. She supports and guides patients and their families through the process, connects them to community resources and facilitates support groups.
McRae earned her master's degree in social work from the University of Southern California. She is a member of the Society for Transplant Social Workers. Prior to joining UCSF, she was a social worker at a nonprofit medical center and hospice agency in Los Angeles.
McRae was raised in Southern California. In her free time, she enjoys listening to podcasts and audiobooks, exploring San Francisco, and being with her husband and their dog, Penny.
