Dr. Owen Wolkowitz is an attending psychiatrist at the UCSF Depression Clinic, which he co-directs.

In his research, Wolkowitz studies how stress and hormones affect the brain.

Wolkowitz earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed a psychiatry residency at Stanford Health Care, followed by a fellowship in psychopharmacology at the National Institute of Mental Health.

Wolkowitz serves on the board of directors of the National Network of Depression Centers.
