Dr. Pablo Sanchez is a cardiologist and a specialist in critical care medicine. He has advanced training in echocardiography (ultrasound of the heart). He treats patients with complex conditions in the intensive care unit, collaborating with other specialists to provide personalized, compassionate care.

Sanchez's research focuses on the intersection of sepsis (an extreme immune response to infection that harms body tissues), lung injury, shock and heart dysfunction. He uses specialized blood molecular analyses to study how damage to the heart affects patients with sepsis and acute respiratory distress syndrome (a lung condition that leads to low blood oxygen levels), with the goal of improving their care.

Sanchez earned his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School, serving as chief resident. He also completed a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine, serving as chief fellow, and a fellowship in critical care medicine at Stanford Hospital.
