Dr. Rajesh Shah is an interventional radiologist who cares for patients with cancer and other conditions using minimally invasive imaging techniques. He specializes in embolization (injections that cut off blood supply to a tumor or other abnormality) and ablation (using heat or another form of energy to destroy abnormal tissue or diseased bone) as well as pain reduction procedures, including nerve blocks and cementoplasty (using cement to stabilize damaged bones), such as vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty (treatments for compression fractures in the spine).

In his research, topics of Shah's studies include liver cancer, lung cancer, embolic therapies, and the use of artificial intelligence in imaging. He is also interested in developing big data resources to serve interventional radiology.

Shah earned his medical degree from the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago. He completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Illinois and a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at Stanford Hospital.

Shah is a fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology and has served the organization in a leadership capacity for several years. He is also active in the American College of Radiology and a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Medical Association and Radiological Society of North America.
