About me
Dr. Sarah Patterson is a rheumatologist who specializes in integrative medicine. In her practice, she combines tools from mainstream medicine with mind-body techniques and nutritional therapies, with the goal of addressing the individual goals and challenges of patients living with chronic disease.
Patterson's research examines the effects of stress on patients with rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus.
At UCSF, Patterson earned her medical degree, completed a residency in internal medicine and completed a fellowship in rheumatology. She then completed a research fellowship in integrative medicine through the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Health. She has studied therapeutic nutrition, yoga and meditation.

Dr. Patterson is an extremely professional, great bedside manner, easy to talk to about any issues always comes up with good solutions and things for me to manage my arthritis better. She's also very kind compassionate and really wants to help her patients. She's a terrific rheumatologist and integrative medicine doctor
