About me

Dr. Tatiana Kelil is a radiologist who interprets breast imaging exams with the goal of detecting breast cancer as early as possible. She performs image-guided breast interventions for patients when abnormalities are seen on their images, and she collaborates with other providers to develop treatment plans for patients with breast cancer.

Passionate about improving health throughout the world, Kelil participates in the UCSF Global Cancer Program and the nonprofit RAD-AID International to improve access to medical imaging in low-resource regions. Her research interests include using advanced technologies – such as 3-D printing and virtual reality – to optimize breast surgeries. She is also interested in machine learning (a type of artificial intelligence) and its applications in detecting and managing breast cancer.

Kelil completed her medical degree at the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. She completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at Brigham and Women's Hospital, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School, followed by a fellowship in breast imaging at UCSF.

Kelil is a member of the Society of Breast Imaging, American Roentgen Ray Society, Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), American College of Radiology, Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine and RAD-AID International. She earned the RSNA Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award in 2015 and RSNA Honored Educator Award in 2017.
