About me

Dr. Timothy Dyster is a pulmonologist, a specialist in lung diseases, who cares for patients in the clinic and the hospital, including intensive care. He has expertise in interstitial lung disease (disorders that can scar lung tissue and affect breathing).

In his research, Dyster studies medical education, with a focus on the social aspects of learning and how to design more inclusive learning environments. He has expertise in quantitative as well as qualitative analysis.

Dyster earned his medical degree at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. At UCSF, he completed a residency in internal medicine, serving as chief resident, followed by a fellowship in pulmonary medicine and critical care. He is completing a master of education degree at the University of California, Berkeley.
